Dr. Rafael Esteban Mur

Dr Rafael Esteban graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, with an outstanding qualification. He is a specialist in Internal Medicine and the Digestive System and holds a Doctor degree from the Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, with the qualification of Extraordinary Prize.

He was resident doctor of Internal Medicine by competitive examination in the Department of Internal Medicine of the Ciudad Sanitaria Valle Hebron. Then deputy doctor by competitive examination of the Department of Internal Medicine of the Sanitary City of the Hebron Valley and later Head of Section and since 1993 Head of Service of Internal Medina and Hepatology, position that he currently holds. He is a member of the Advisory Committee of the Medical Directorate, also carrying out his professional work at the Hospital Quirónsalud in Barcelona, of which he is director of the Internal Medicine Service.

Dr Esteban is also catedrathic of Medicine (Hepatology) at the Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, where he teaches medicine, seminars and postgraduate courses.

His extensive experience as a researcher in the field of Hepatology has led him to be a researcher in numerous clinical trials of hepatitis B and C. He has published a large number of articles in national and international journals and to lead the group of viral hepatitis Ciber-ehd of Hepatology at Hebron Valley Hospital.

He has been President of the Association for the Study of Liver Disease.

He has been included on several occasions in the list of the 100 best doctors of Spain of Forbes, he has received several awards and recognitions highlighting National Prize Medicine Century XXI, of 2019.
