Quirónsalud Marbella Hospital presents its Covid-19 home testing (PCR and antigen tests) service
Quirónsalud Marbella Hospital has implemented a service to perform diagnostic tests for Covid-19 at the patient’s home. A team that specialises in sample taking will come to the home of any patient that requests a Covid-19 (PCR and antigen tests) diagnostic test.
This initiative has arisen as a response to the high demand for home testing. To cover this demand and with the purpose of improving our response to patient needs, Quirónsalud Marbella Hospital has promoted this initiative which provides multiple benefits. "One of them is convenience. The patient does not need to travel to take a less than 10-minute test. On the other hand, this testing alternative offers comfort to patients, who can remain in the comfort of their own homes", explains the Head of Nurses, Davinia Cantero.
Ms Cantero points out another not less relevant aspect amongst the list of benefits. "Covid-19 diagnostic home testing minimises the risks for vulnerable people, such as the elderly or patients with a weakened immune system", she states. The privacy provided by home testing is also another benefit of the list.
All the safety protocols set out in the "Covid-19 Secure Protocol" certification issued by external auditor Applus+ -which is implemented in all units of the Marbella hospital- are followed during the process of PCR and antigen home testing.
Quirónsalud Marbella Hospital has a dedicated telephone number to make an appointment for home PCR and antigen testing: 618 249 331 / 682 335 030 Tests are performed between 11.00 AM and 6.00 PM. The dedicated testing vehicle is available to travel within the Marbella municipality. Test results are available within the same timeframes as the tests taken at the hospital.
PCR and antigen home testing is complementary to the services already being provided by the hospital to hotels, businesses and event agencies on the Costa del Sol for Covid-19 diagnostic tests to large groups.
