New specialists and an extended service portfolio at the Neurology Unit of Quirónsalud Marbella Hospital

The statistics have grown exponentially and contributed to reinforce the availability of neurological services with more in-depth knowledge of these disorders", explained the Head of the Neurology Unit of Quirónsalud Marbella Hospital, Doctor María Dolores Jiménez Hernández.
Dr Jiménez has just come on board of our Marbella hospital to lead the new health service of the Neurology Unit. These are new times for our hospital as the neurology expert will contribute her extensive expertise as the Head of the Neurology and Neurophysiology Unit of University Hospital Virgen del Rocío, which is considered one of the most qualified in the public health service. Additionally to her healthcare profile, the Doctor in Neurology combines a position as a Permanent Professor at the University of Seville and an outstanding role in scientific research, an area in which she has obtained important awards granted by long-term research national agencies, research institutions such as ISCIII and the Fundación Progreso y Salud trust as well as national and international scientific associations.
Her addition to the Neurology Unit of the Quirónsalud Marbella Hospitalmeans the start of a project in medical assistance that seeks excellence. "We have hired a good number of healthcare professionals, extended our service portfolio and increased the range of medical services, with the purpose of establishing a protocol at various levels. At the same time, we have added new diagnostic techniques (Doppler, Neurophysiology) and therapeutic techniques (neural blockades, botulinum toxin injections and specific treatments for neurological processes) that are bringing enormous benefits to patient care", Dr María Dolores Jiménez Hernández highlighted. In terms of long-term projects, the specialist announced the "consolidation of a structure at the highest level with the creation of monographic units and joint multidisciplinary teams with other Units and Services of the hospital".
