Solicita Información de la Unidad de sueño

It is a sleep study that measures the cycles and stages of sleep through the recording of brain waves (EEG), the electrical activity of muscles, eye movements, respiratory rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation in the blood and heart rate. The professionals that make up our team are specially trained to observe the person directly while they sleep.

The dream has 2 stages: sleep without rapid eye movements (NREM, for its acronym in English) or sleep desynchronized, and sleep with rapid eye movements (REM, for its acronym in English) or synchronized sleep. REM sleep is associated with the act of dreaming. Body muscles, except for the eyes and lungs, do not move during this stage of sleep. NREM sleep has 4 stages that can be differentiated by means of EEG waves. REM sleep alternates with NREM sleep approximately every 90 minutes. A person with normal sleep usually has 4 to 5 cycles of REM sleep and NREM sleep for one night.
