Doctor Nabil Ragaei Kamel receives the Doctor of the Year Award in Ophthalmology

Newspaper La Razón invited reputed professionals from the medical profession for the fifth year in a row to the Doctor of the Year awards ceremony. This event was held last evening with a special mention to Dr Nabil Ragaei Kamel, the Head of the Ophthalmology Unit at the Quirónsalud hospitals in Marbella
, Campo de Gibraltar, Madrid (San José) and Toledo. This event has become a major annual gathering to recognise the excellence and career of reputed professionals from all areas of medicine.
On receiving the award the specialist declared: "I sincerely think that this award is a way to reconfirm that the professional career I chose was the correct one. I enjoy my profession every day. I will now continue to offer my best version to my patients; keep up my enthusiasm every day and keep up with the progress in the field of Ophthalmology. All with the purpose of attaining the same goal I have had since the first day, which is helping all my patients improve their eye health. I like to search for and find the most adequate medical and surgical solution to each specific case. In order to do that, I have always believed that keeping up with science is an essential pillar in my professional life. And, of course, in my medical practice".
On being asked about the new challenges facing Ophthalmology professionals, Doctor Nabil Ragaei Kamel highlighted the fast development of technology experienced in this speciality. "Right now, intraocular implants and latest-generation laser refractive surgery are delivering extraordinary results in highly-complex pathologies", he highlighted. Amongst his academic achievements, Dr Nabil Ragaei Kamel holds a University Degree in Medicine and Surgery and a Master Degree in Ophthalmology, both with Distinction, awarded by the El Cairo University in Egypt. He is additionally a Doctor in Ophthalmology awarded by the Madrid Complutense University with Cum Laude Honours.
