"The high-complexity procedure performed on him was abdominal cytoreductive surgery and intraoperative chemotherapy. This procedure has a double purpose: the thorough removal of all the tumours and, on the other hand, the application of hyperthermic chemotherapy to eliminate any microscopic residual cancer", detailed Doctor Daniel Díaz Gómez, an expert surgeon in carcinomatosis who has performed the procedures.
It is important to highlight that "the use of hyperthermic chemotherapy during surgery improves the results, especially in ovarian carcinomatosis or in cases of colon carcinomatosis" stated the specialist of our Marbella hospital.
